NUP Diaspora Team Leader

Our annual convention provides a platform to reflect on our shared journey and strategize for the future. In Washington, D.C., we examined the critical relationship between Uganda and the Western world, discussing how these partnerships can influence democratic change while balancing national interests with the rights and freedoms of the Ugandan people. In Chicago, we painted a vision of what a New Uganda could look like post-Museveni.

In Boston, we aim to reignite the passion and responsibility of the diaspora as catalysts for transformative change. After 38 years of authoritarian rule, we must unite and equip ourselves with the strategies, resources, and determination needed to support Uganda’s transition to democracy.

We encourage every Ugandan in the diaspora and friends of Uganda to attend and actively participate in this pivotal gathering. Together, we can build a roadmap for liberation and ensure a brighter future for our country.

Our chapter is a dynamic and inclusive community for Ugandans across the United States who seek meaningful change in our homeland. Over the years, Boston has stood at the forefront of advocacy, with passionate Ugandans taking to the streets of Waltham, Boston, Washington DC and New York City to voice their dissatisfaction with the state of affairs back home.  

Boston is home to highly motivated individuals with incredible stories and invaluable contributions to both the Ugandan cause and the diverse communities they serve. We welcome everyone who shares our vision for a better Uganda, proudly demonstrating our resilience and determination on a global stage.  

This convention is an opportunity to inspire a new generation of leaders, deepen the love for the struggle, and showcase that true change is possible. Together, as “Boston Strong,” we continue to pave the way for a brighter future for Uganda.

By amplifying our voices and uniting our efforts, we can build the foundation for a new Uganda—one where freedom, justice, and equality are not just aspirations but realities for all Ugandans.

This convention is a pivotal gathering for all who are committed to the fight for justice, democracy, and human rights in Uganda. Registration

The registration fees by our delegates and sponsors go towards running the conference and funding charity projects adopted from the convention resolutions. Registration fees are non-refundable but swaps shall be accommodated if pre-approved. All registration fees must be made online from the official event website except for international delegates without the means to pay online who can use Moneygram or western union.

We are delighted to announce that the 2025 Convention will take place at the Boston Marriott Burlington, located at One Burlington Mall Road Burlington, Massachusetts, USA, 01803. If you encounter any challenges reserving your hotel room under the group discount, please contact the hotel directly for assistance.

For the convenience of our delegates flying through Logan International airport, a complimentary airport shuttle service will be provided every 30 minutes.

  • Register early to give yourself enough time for your visa application process.
  • Make your visa appointment early.
  • Make sure to take your Convention registration acknowledgement and invitation letter to your visa appointment.
  • Book your hotel room  at the convention venue early.
  • Please email conventions@diasporanup.org after you pay the convention registration fee in order to receive an invitation letter. Registration fees are non-refundable.
  • Your registration will be processed faster if you pay on the website with a bank card.
  • If you are unable to use online payment, consider using Western Union or Moneygram to submit payment to our treasurer.
